Write a two-page essay on how your thoughts about food have changed (or not) thus far this semester. It can go over two pages, but cannot be under the minimum without a major deduction. Here, I am not testing your knowledge of the readings we’ve covered; I just wanted to give you a topic that you could easily generate ideas about to exhibit your knowledge of the formatting and grammar skills we have covered so far.
The essay will be graded on the following features: 1. Thoughtfulness and thoroughness (I should be able to follow your ideas
easily) 2. Proofreading skill. There should be no or very few grammar or
formatting errors—the essay should be polished. 3. MLA format, including spacing throughout, heading, and header (page
numbers) 4. Including the following types of sentence combining strategies:
• 3 subordination sentences showing contrast, punctuated properly. Underline the subordinator..
• 3 coordination sentences, punctuated properly. Underline the coordinator.
• 3 sentences using a semi-colon, punctuated properly. Underline the semi-colon (and the transition word, if you choose to use one).
