Qualitative versus Quantitative Research Methods

Students are required to write a paper answering the following prompt:

Compare and contrast qualitative versus quantitative research methods in criminal justice. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each approach? Give practical examples using criminal justice problems/issues of which method would be most appropriate.

The paper will consist of at least 4 double-spaced pages (excluding title page, references, figures, illustrations, or other extraneous elements outside the main body of the paper). Students will format their paper using 12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. Students will use at least 5 scholarly or trade references (Wikipedia, non-legitimate peer-reviewed websites, or blogs CANNOT be used as a reference). APA 7th Edition guidelines are to be followed.
