Thesis Statement
What are the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)?
To protect individuals with disabilities from discrimination and inequality, the Americans with
Disabilities Act prohibit discrimination and ensure opportunity for them in employment, hence,
enforcing the act was a good thing for all the disabled people in terms of more job’s creation and
fairness in many places.

the end of that sentence with the superscript number starting with number one. And the
bottom of that page where you have that superscript number should be your citation
source at the footnote of the page.
Analyzing the primary source. How you formulate your argument is
completely up to you. You can argue the content of the document itself, the
context in which it was presented, the implications of the writing, or even
the relevance of the document to the modern day. This is entirely up to you
so long as you present an argument in the form of a thesis and then
support that argument in the supporting paragraphs.
The key to writing a good essay begins with writing a solid thesis
statement. A good thesis for a persuasive essay should have the following
attributes:
It should state an opinion. Remember, you are going to state your
position or opinion as fact and that happens in your thesis statement. The
body paragraphs is where you will present your evidence that proves your
opinion to be correct.
It needs to be specific. One of the biggest problems with student thesis’
is that they are often too broad and don’t give the writing a clear direction.
The reader needs to know with certainly exactly what argument you are
about to make. Be focused and be specific.
Provide evidence. The thesis should provide some of the evidence in
which you are going to delve deeper into in your writing. Don’t just state
“the sky is blue”, say it’s blue “because…” and introduce some of the
evidentiary proof that you will be exploring. This also helps make the thesis
more focused.
See if your thesis passes the “How-Why Test”. A good thesis will tell
the reader either how or why the author’s opinion is true. In other words,
when the reader finishes just the thesis statement they are going to know
that your are either going to show “how” something is true, or “why”
something is true. Again, this provides more focus to the thesis.
