In this assignment, you will conduct a buy-build-ally analysis of the company and recommend a strategy that the company can implement over the next five years to achieve the targeted growth.

Prompt

Perform a buy-build-ally analysis for your company and recommend actions the company can take to realize the identified opportunity within five years. Use resources such as the company website, which will have pertinent information including its most recent sustainability report, and other relevant sources to help complete this presentation. You can also use the resources in the MBA Library Research Guide to conduct further research about your company.

Create a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to show the results of your analysis and present your recommendations. Use both on-screen text and speaker notes to convey your information effectively. For example, you can use brief bulleted lists summarizing the highlights of your analysis on the slide, and include more detailed explanations where needed in your speaker notes.

Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:

1. Implementation strategy (slides 1–3): Recommend an implementation strategy for your company.
   1. Determine whether the company will need to buy, build, or ally with another company. Consider the skills, facilities, products, and services the company will need to capitalize on the identified opportunity.
   2. Use the speaker notes of your presentation to explain the strategy behind your buy, build, and ally recommendations.

2. Timeline (slides 4–5): Construct a timeline showing what your company should achieve by the end of each year for the next five years.

Guidelines for Submission

Create a PowerPoint presentation with 5–7 slides. Sources should be cited according to APA style. Consult the Shapiro Library APA Style Guide for more information on citations.

This assignment reinforces the concepts from Discussion #1 to build on a more comprehensive approach to understanding the definitions of art. This is an important activity that enables you to research a written concept (the definitions of art), visualize this concept (find an artwork), and then present your findings in a professional manner (written paper).

Task:

1. Read sections 1.3.1 Historic Development of the Idea of Art and 1.8 Key Concepts from Unit 1 and reference these when describing images. (these can be found in the pdf file attached)
2. Draft a paper in MLA format with a minimum of 500 words and 5 inserted images.
3. In your paper, briefly describe each of the five definitions of art from Unit 1 (Mimesis, Communication, Significant Form, Artworld/Institutional, Mind into the World).  Indicate a strength and a weakness of each definition.
4. Give a brief biography of each artist and a description (title, date, medium) of the artwork you present, as well as an explanation of how the artwork meets the criteria for each definition of art.
5. Cite your sources and include a Works Cited/Bibliography page in MLA format.
6. Save your paper as a PDF and submit it to the assignment folder by the deadline.

Wikipedia, Dictionaries, and Encyclopedias are considered open source or collective edited sources and should NOT be used in your paper.  Use signed sources from named authors. Chapter 3 section 2 outlines the history of books including the invention of mechanical movable type by Johannes Gutenberg.
