Antigone response

After reading Antigone, write a 300-400 word response to what you have read. This is not just a critical review (I liked it or didn’t like it), but rather an analysis of the play. As you are writing, consider the things we have talked about in class and how they apply to what you’ve read. For this response, the following questions should be addressed:

• What category of play is this? Is it a comedy, tragedy, or satyr play? How do you know?
• How does the chorus support the storytelling in this play?
• What morals and themes do you think the Greek community was supposed to take away from this production? Try to see beyond the obvious and look for a deeper meaning.
• How is Antigone relevant to what’s happening in the world today? Or is it relevant?
• What did you like about the play or what didn’t you like? Remember to support these ideas with examples from the text.
• Include any other points that you feel are important or stood out to you.
