For this assignment, you will choose a historical event (Pre 2000) that was either crucial in the LGBTQ movement or affected LGBTQ populations. The point of this assignment is to discuss a facet of history that is often left out. However, it DOES  have to be an event where you can find sources to do the project. You may choose some aspect of Stonewall, Harvey Milk, AIDS Pandemic, Transgender history, Lesbian history.  Don’t just reiterate class discussion. ·     

  You will write a 4 page essay to discuss your event. Your first pages should discuss the event and give your reader some facts about what happened. The rest of your paper should focus on why this event is crucial to our understanding of LGBTQ history?

You will need evidence from sources to prove this point (why it was significant). The essay functions as an expository essay with a persuasive conclusion. ·    

   The essay should have 3 sources and should be cited in MLA or APA.
