Your proposal must be a minimum of 1.5 pages and be in correct MLA format. It must also include all of the following in this order (each numbered point should be its own paragraph):

Provide a solid claim: this is the stance or position you will argue and research. This should be a rough draft thesis. You must include a claim and three main points in one, concise sentence. This will only be ONE sentence on your submission. 

Explain why you chose the topic. What is your connection to the topic? This should be a minimum of 100 words. 

Summarize ONE of your sources. Include the title of the article, year, the journal of publication, and the authors’ name(s). Since your topic is inspired by the articles you have been reading over the past few weeks, I suggest using one of those articles for this portion of this assignment. This should be a minimum of 100 words.

Analyze ONE of your sources. If the above article is NOT one of the articles you wrote about in the previous week’s discussion board, analyze its author’s use of Rhetorical Appeals (Ethos, Pathos, and Logos).

Be sure to provide quotes that demonstrate each of the Rhetorical Appeals and follow the quote with an explanation of how those quotes are examples of the appeal and how they make the article more convincing. This should be a minimum of about 200 words. 

Briefly, discuss how this particular source will help your argue one (or more) of your main points. This should be a sentence or two. 

I will approve the topic or provide comments on what you can do to improve upon the topic. It is possible that I may veto the topic completely and send you back to the drawing board. Plan on turning in several versions of this assignment.
